Hocking Heritage + Architecture follows an in-depth research based approach into all issues that influence the outcome of our projects and studies. Our past experience working with state heritage listed buildings within complex sites and contexts places our practice on a solid foundation to contribute towards achieving best heritage outcomes and encouraging coexistence of innovative, contemporary re-use of existing heritage places. We value the collaborative approach that many of our projects require in delivering a final product that meets all our clients’ expectations. Heritage projects can raise a multitude of issues that require innovative solutions, often formulated from the collective thinking of the various disciplines involved in delivering the project.

Our knowledge of local heritage and planning processes makes the practice highly competent at the front end of projects, negotiating integrated planning – heritage approvals for complex sites and setting strategic direction for heritage and planning related matters. Our knowledge of traditional construction technology makes the practice highly proficient in providing our clients with project briefs, drawings and specifications for conservation works, contract administration and delivery of projects. Our on-going liaison and negotiation with Heritage Council of Western Australia through the State Heritage Office is an advantage to our clients in ensuring a collaborative and consultative process between the project team and heritage agencies. This in turn facilitates expedient statutory heritage approvals.
